So you know, I thought there were only 10, but there are 12 eps in the first season. When I realized that yesterday, it was like finding two $20 bills in the pocket of a pair of dirty jeans.
So, I’m up to episode nine, and the only thing negative I have to say about any moment in this series (besides the blood, which has to be there and I’ve just gonna have to get used to) is that I don’t think we needed to know definitively that Dr. Rudy was the Ice Truck Killer. I understand why they let us know when they did, they want us to be on the edge of our seats whenever Rudy and Dexter are within any proximity to each other, but I think we might have been able to pick up on clues.
After all, Rudy has not been shy about showing how he can cut that twine he’s tying the magazines up with at that house that belonged to Dex’s “biodad.” And for a guy with a hot hard-bodied girlfriend with a voracious appetite, he’s paying an awful lot of attention to her brother.
It’s almost like a he’s dating both of them. Poor Rita, left out in the cold.
BTW, Julie Benz has been so good showing Rita’s emotional growth. I have to admit I cheered when she clocked her crackhead ex-husband with that baseball bat. Just about the only baseball I’ve watched all year, in fact.
Hey, how does a former crack addict have a body like his, anyway? That’s a bit inconsistent, dontcha think? And when is Dexter gonna kill him? I hope it happens in episode 10.
So Sgt. Doakes is a black ops guy for the CIA or some other organization? Is that why he’s such a dick? He could be nicer to his mom and sisters, after all that was Vernee Watson-Johnson playing his mom and she was a Sweathog in the 70s.
Three more episodes to go.
